iCentera Introduces "sforce Certified" icSuite for Salesforce.com

San Francisco, Calif.—Nov. 2, 2004—iCentera, a leading provider of intelligence centers for marketing and sales effectiveness, and salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced the launch of the icSuite for Salesforce.com. The icSuite provides salesforce.com customers with on-demand offerings such as advanced content management, custom portal creation, and real-time content and portal analytics. iCentera is a saleforce.com partner and the icSuite has achieved the "sforce Certified" designation, having successfully completed rigorous testing.

The icSuite was announced today in San Francisco at Dreamforce 2004, the second annual salesforce.com user and developer conference.

Since sforce was launched in June 2003, salesforce.com has created an ecosystem that is significantly changing the way on-demand applications are built, just as Salesforce.com changed how they are delivered. Today, iCentera joins an sforce community of 3,000 developers, 750 enterprises and more than 100 ISVs who are using sforce to customize, integrate and extend Salesforce.com to create custom CRM solutions.

AlterPoint, the leading provider of network change and configuration management solutions currently leverages the icSuite for Salesforce.com to provide one integrated CRM solution for their global sales force. "Our teams were already using Salesforce.com and the icSuite separately," said Curtis Gattis, VP of Sales at AlterPoint. "Today, with the integrated solution, we are able to access information about an account in Salesforce.com and then immediately gain sales guidance and relevant collateral through the icSuite. Finally we are able to take all of this information and deliver it through custom and secure portals to any audience including prospects, customers and partners."

Sforce partners expand customer choice by creating a wide range of new customer-centric solutions for many business requirements, including, contact center, email marketing, ERP, integration, social networking and more. All solutions are built using open standards on the sforce on-demand platform, one of the most widely used and broadly supported enterprise Web services. Partner solutions can be found in the On-Demand Marketplace located at www.salesforce.com/marketplace.

"A key part to sales effectiveness is providing teams with all the tools and information they need during the sales process," said Michael Kreaden, director, sforce Ecosystem Development at salesforce.com. "With the integration of the icSuite within Salesforce.com our customers can seamlessly manage the entire sales process by providing immediate access to sales guidance, sales ready marketing materials, online collaboration, and create sales portals in a matter of minutes."

With the icSuite integration for Salesforce.com, salesforce.com customers are able to access the targeted sales collateral, sales guidance and custom portal creation they need, through the industry leading sales productivity solution they already know. The icSuite for Salesforce.com provides advanced sales effectiveness functionality including:

  • Automated portal creation - Create and customize portals for partners, prospects and customers in minutes using existing Salesforce.com account and opportunity data.
  • Advanced content management - dynamically promote, update, manage, and deliver both internally and to the external customer targeted sales intelligence and collateral.
  • Content and portal analytics - Real-time tracking and analysis of who has accessed portals, what documents they are using and what sales information is most effective.

  • Collaboration - portals generated by the icSuite provide online collaboration features that help bridge the gap internally between marketing and sales, and externally with partners and customers.
  • "It can take 6 - 24 months to develop the infrastructure needed to support marketing and sales. On-demand solutions have become essential because companies don't have two years to build what is required to drive sales," said Craig Nelson, president and CEO of iCentera. "The icSuite for Salesforce.com provides an on-demand infrastructure for all channel sales, so that companies can focus on their core business. Our partnership with salesforce.com truly raises the bar on CRM by providing productivity and effectiveness in one solution."

The sforce on-demand platform allows solution developers to customize, integrate and extend Salesforce.com to create sophisticated custom CRM solutions. In contrast to traditional packaged software, sforce allows developers to use the tools they already know and love from IBM, BEA (NASDAQ: BEAS), Borland (NASDAQ: BORL) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), and open source solutions like Perl and PHP, to build CRM integrations and applications with record speed and success. Leveraging standards and technologies from the Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), sforce continues to demonstrate how the on-demand platforms are a central part of the new enterprise IT strategies.
