iCentera Raises The Bar On Enterprise Portal Software With icSuite 2.0

"Portals for Mortals™" Drive On-Demand Business Communications

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. and HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA., DEMOFall 2005, Station #14, September 19, 2005—iCentera, the leading provider of on-demand communication portals, today introduced a new paradigm to the Enterprise Portal Solution (EPS) space with the announcement of icSuite 2.0. icSuite 2.0's "Portals for Mortals™" deliver an easy-to-use, hosted solution that allows anyone in the organization to create and deliver customizable portals within five minutes with no technical expertise, hardware or software. In about the same amount of time that it takes to create an email, the icSuite enables companies to create on-demand portals to communicate both internally and externally. With the introduction of the icSuite2.0, iCentera is taking this innovative communication approach to the next level by adding new publishing capabilities, advanced portal user management, additional security controls, content templates, and improved two-way communication via portals.

"ADC has served the communications industry for more than half a century. With complex product offerings we have a vast amount of content located on multiple intranets and other locations. This information needs to be updated, communicated and made available for our global sales teams and externally to partners and customers. We needed a solution that would easily provide communication portals and we needed it immediately," said Bill Fuesz, senior marketing manager at ADC. "The icSuite gave us the ability to create and deliver customized portals for specific audiences in a fraction of the time and cost it would have taken to build and manage them. More importantly, the icSuite will help us to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences to drive our marketing message and improve sales."

Companies are feeling the stagnante effects of communicating through extranets, intranets, and email. Enterprises spend millions of dollars and years leveraging cumbersome portals solutions to improve online communication. Today, they are looking for portal solutions that deliver collaborative capabilities and best practices immediately. iCentera is creating a new paradigm within the EPS space by changing the way businesses communicate using event-driven portal templates that enable users to go from and idea to delivery within five minutes.

The iCentera icSuite 2.0 combines four functional elements; custom portal creation, content management, collaboration, and real-time analytics in one solution. When integrated, these four elements create a powerful business communication tool. New features in icSuite 2.0 include:

  • Enhanced Portal Creation and Customization - Support for multiple portal template branding, advanced portal user management for large volumes of portal users, publishing to one or thousands of portals in a few clicks, support for single users across multiple portals, bulk user load, and advanced charting.
  • Increased Content Management Controls - New portal search facility, improved binder management, expanded portal news management, and expanded publishing for portal users.
  • Content and portals templates - "Out-of-the-box" portal template and content best practices for marketing, sales and support.
  • Best-of-breed security - Further secures sensitive content and collaboration.

"There is a sincere move in the enterprise to leverage on-demand solutions that deliver immediate ROI," said Craig Nelson, president and CEO of iCentera. "icSuite 2.0 is a direct result of customer usage analytics and the feedback we've received from our customers and their successful creation of more than 2,800 on-demand icPortals. We have heard from many executives that they simply couldn't wait from months to a year to deliver event-driven portals that support everything from a product launches to customer communication. The icSuite is delivered as a software service in less than 24 hours without the need for technical expertise, software development or hardware infrastructure."

iCentera will be demoing the newly announced icSuite 2.0 at the DEMOfall 2005 conference at booth 14 and in a 6 minute presentation at the show on Tuesday the 21st at 3:24 pm.
